Day Trippin’ — Gardens, Old Forests and a Silver Lake

It was just one of those days when we said ... "Let’s be lazy." We learned that there is no better way to relax than to take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful Minter Gardens. This family owned garden is twenty minutes from Hope and certainly lives up to its motto … "A World Class Flower Show". As we walked through its eleven themed gardens, we were dazzled with the floral tapestries of color and fragrances.

You can view a panorama from within the gazebo at our Panorama Gallery.

Just minutes from the RV Park we slowed down and enjoyed one of our infrequent Thoreau moments at Silver Lake Provincial Park. What made the moment so special was that we had this Walden Pond clone all to ourselves. It was eerily quiet, green and tranquil. We felt the air become still and watched as the trees slowly emerged as mirror images on the surface of the lake. (For a panoramic reflection of Silver Lake... visit our Panorama Gallery.) It is for these special moments and for Silver Lake that we vowed to return to the Hope area.
